    About Us

Our company, founded in 1990, was created leveraging the combined experience of a group of partners, with the firm conviction of building a country based on the generation of employment, knowledge and social equity in each of our projects.

We are dedicated to real estate management, architectural design and construction of commercial, residential, institutional, educational, industrial and health care buildings.

Today we are relying on the modern Building Information Modeling (BIM) methodology, which simulates the future construction project in a virtual environment. The entire interdisciplinary team interacts permanently with updated information and therefore, we ensure control of the on-site processes, avoid reprocessing, and ultimately save time and money.

We support those who entrust us with their projects, who are bursting with plans and ideals. Our proposals are cleverly designed and come from the heart. They are bursting with plans and ideals.

Our commitment is to build a future with quality and responsibility, open to research and the application of new technologies, always placing the human being first, together with the relationship with the environment.

Obras Escuela Program (School Works Program)
We understand the main bulwark of our construction projects to be the knowledge and effort of our direct hire and subcontracted personnel.

In 1992, under the leadership of a group of people from our organization, together with one of our clients, we started the primary basic education program at Villa del Sol in Bello. The program’s beneficiaries have since become a reference and learning multipliers in their family, work and social environment. To date, the program shows that there are opportunities to progress in Colombia, regardless of age or social status and to discover the values and potential of each individual.

The program was adopted by the Colombian Chamber of Construction (Camacol) in 2007, engaging an important group of builders. It started in Antioquia and then expanded to other cities under the designation of School Works (Obras Escuela), with the support of the Office of Education of Medellín and of the Institución Educativa Jesús Rey, which awards the students their degree certificates.

Obras Escuela has shown that educating an adult immediately impacts the family, work and social environment as follows:

    • Workers become an example for their children and family.

    • It increases the worker’s self-esteem.

    • It elevates the profile of the construction worker.

    • It generates a sense of belonging.

    • It improves industrial safety in the work sites.

    • It develops spaces of family coexistence and sparks affinities between parents and children.

    • Tasks generate discipline and responsibility.

    • Domestic violence decreases.

    • It generates optimism and hope.

    • It promotes training in values: the basis of democracy and coexistence.

    • It develops the correct use of language in listening, speaking, reading and writing.

    • It generates competencies in logical-mathematical thinking.

    • It improves the relationships between co-workers.

    • It improves the ability to work as a team.

    • It provides knowledge about citizen culture, through subjects taught and pedagogical outings.

    Construction School

In 2015, Muros y Techos created the Construction School (Escuela de Construcción) program with the aim of offering technical foundation in the different building aspects that are involved in a construction project, in order to improve the quality of the processes, boost the skills for progress in the workplace, seek out a motivator so that more people work in construction, dignify the work in construction that is undervalued by society, enhance the sense of belonging to the Organization and the construction work, and increase workers’ work stability. The outcome is to improve workers’ quality of life.

These two programs pursue overcoming the technical illiteracy in the trade and delivering tools to our workers to better perform their work. This will certainly reduce company costs and eliminate reprocesses.
